Fried Channa (chick peas)

Description

A Tastey snack, that you can make as spicy as you like it!

Ingredients

  • 2 cans chickpeas (19 oz)
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 green onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 clove of garlic (minced)
  • pinch of cumin
  • 3 tbsp corn oil
  • 1 tsp hot pepper (optional)

Methods/steps

  1. Using a colander, drain the water from the chick peas (you can use  paper towel to absorb any remaining water)
  2. In a deep pan/ pot, heat oil on medium heat
  3. Add chopped onion, garlic, green onion and cumin.
  4. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on medium heat
  5. Add chickpeas and 1 tsp of salt, and turn
  6. Add pepper (optional) and continue cooking for another 5 minutes on low heat
  7. Once cooled, add remaining salt, according to your taste
