serving size varies
  • Firm ripen pink lady guavas
  • Warm water, enough to cover guavas
  • Sugar (white granulated) – to taste or sweetened
  • ½ - 1 teaspoon Angostura aromatic bitters (Optional)

Methods/steps

  1. Ripe guavas (firm, pink lady, preferred) Wash, cut out ends, and slice.
  2. Place slices in a large pot with warm water (just enough to cover them). Boil guava until it is very soft or for however long it takes
  3. Pour softened guavas into a clean cheese cloth, muslin or any clean white (prefer) hand towel. Over a large bowl or jug, gently squeeze first, and then gently wring cloth until all juices are out.
  4. Set aside
  5. Sweeten with sugar to taste
  6. For clear juice, do not squeeze cloth. Just strain, sweeten and serve with ice cubes
  7. Serve with ice cubes immediately, or bottle for future use.

Additional Tips

You can make any other juices with this same method - such as: tamarind juice, soursop juice, passion fruit juice, sopadillia juice or pineapple juice
